Catholic cemeteries are holy places of prayer and remembrance. To preserve their sacred character admission to the grounds and buildings is granted to those who conduct themselves in accordance with their Rules and Regulations and act in concert with Catholic belief, tradition and decorum.
Gate of Heaven Cemetery is open for visitation every day at 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Inclement weather, however, may restrict access to the cemeteries. If doubt exists, those wishing access to the properties for visitation purposes may always contact the cemetery office 914-769-3672.

Monday thru Saturday: 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Sunday: Office Closed
The cemetery office is closed on major holidays as observed by Catholic religious practice and state and/or federal governments; in addition, no committal services take place on these days. If doubt exists, those wishing to conduct business at Gate of Heaven Cemetery may always make initial contact with that office by telephone.
Gate of Heaven Cemetery, located in the wooded hills of the Town of Mount Pleasant in the hamlet of Hawthorne, Westchester County, New York, is 260 acres of which 200 have been developed into 37 sections for ground burial and two major mausoleum complexes. Gate of Heaven is located in central Westchester County, near the Tappan Zee Bridge and north of the New York Thruway.
By train: Certain trains on the Metro North Railroad Harlem Division run from grand Central Station to the cemetery on a daily basis. The station stop at the cemetery is Mt. Pleasant. Call Metro North for the current schedule. Also, taxi service is available from nearby Valhalla and Hawthorne stations.
